Guwahati: Decomposed Body Recovered In Ulubari

Guwahati: A decomposed body of an unknown person was found in the Ulubari area in Guwahati near the office of the DGP on April 29. According to reports, the decomposed body was wrapped in a blanket in an abandoned house.

The deceased has not yet been identified. Meanwhile, police have arrived at the spot and have carried out a preliminary investigation.

A police official has said that no injuries were found on his body as a result of which it is suspected that he died of natural causes. The official added that the exact reason behind his death will be known after post mortem.

He speculated that the deceased could may as well be a homeless person or a beggar but nothing can be verified in the present circumstance. It is suspected that he passed away 4-5 days ago, the official added.

Meanwhile, in an unfortunate incident, a young woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at the residence of a noted astrologer in the Last Gate area of Guwahati on April 28. The deceased had been identified as Pompy Ghosh, a resident of the Bishnupur area in Guwahati.

According to reports, Ghosh was in a relationship with the astrologer named Lila Madhab Saikia for the past three years and was working with him for the past three years.

The family members of the deceased had accused Saikia of murder. Following this, police had taken Saikia into custody for questioning.

In another shocking incident, a married woman tried to end her life by jumping off the Chandmari flyover in Assam's Guwahati but fortunately, she was saved by the locals of the area.

The woman attempted to commit suicide during the morning hours on Wednesday 27 April by jumping off the flyover located in Krishna Nagar of Guwahati.

According to reports, the passers-by saw the woman about to jump off the flyover and immediately rushed to stop her and later informed the city police.
