Guwahati doctor deliberates on reality in sar areas of immunization

GUWAHATI: Dr. Bhabajyoti Bora from Guwahati focused on the ground reality of implementation of different apps and adaptation of technology in different levels up to grassroots-level workers for the improvement of immunization in access-compromised areas, sar areas and diversified geographical challenges to deliver immunization services in rural India as a consultation at IIT Kharagpur on Thursday.

The topic of the expert consultation was on the theme 'How India is Enabling and Leveraging Immunization for Better Health'.

Dr. Bhabajyoti Bora from Guwahati worked for 22 years in Polio Eradication Programme with the WHO, besides working in the UN Ebola Mission in West Africa. He joined as an expert in the session.

Professor Goutam Saha, Dean, Research and Development, IIT Kharagpur, took the initiative to hold an expert consultation on 'How India is Enabling and Leveraging Immunization for Better Health' at IIT Kharagpur Research Park, New Town, Kolkata, on 23rd January, 2025.

Eminent experts from all over India, including ICMR, health specialists and stakeholders, participated and shared their views to improve immunization in India.

For the first time, IIT Kharagpur organised such an expert consultation on immunization for better health at their newly constructed research park in Kolkata and it will open a new path to incorporate advanced technology in vaccination programme in India, which is a robust public health program of the world.
