Guwahati: Eviction drive to clear unregistered vendors in city

Guwahati: A joint team comprising officials from EGPD (Dispur and Basistha Police Stations) and the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) conducted an eviction drive on Tuesday between Jaya Nagar and the APSC crossing.

The drive targeted unregistered food carts and roadside shops operating without proper authorization. Carried out in accordance with municipal regulations, the action aimed to restore public order, ensure pedestrian safety, and maintain urban hygiene in the area.

Authorities have confirmed that regular monitoring will continue to prevent such unauthorized encroachments in the future.
