Guwahati: Excise Secretary in Custody of CM’s Special Vigilance Cell

GUWAHATI: The Special Court, Guwahati, sent Excise Department Secretary Indreswar Kalit, who was arrested yesterday in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case, to two-day custody in CM’s Special Vigilance Cell today. The CM’s SVC registered a case (2/24) against him for possessing assets beyond his known sources of income. Sleuths from the CM’s SVC had earlier conducted a preliminary investigation into the matter and also raided Nirvana Apartment in Sundarpur. He has been alleged to own several properties in the Beltola and Bhetapara localities of the city.
