Guwahati: Fake currency worth Rs 10.5 lakh seized in city

Guwahati: A team from the Crime Branch, Guwahati apprehended one Md. Jahidul Ali (30) of Biswanath Chariali during an operation at Survey, Beltola.

From his possession, police seized 21 bundles of suspected Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) of Rs 500 denomination, amounting to a face value of Rs 10.5 lakh. Officials said legal action has been initiated and further investigation is underway.
