GUWAHATI: A devastating fire broke out in the Basisthapur area of Guwahati on Monday, resulting in the loss of one life and widespread destruction of property. The incident occurred at Bylane No. 1 in Basisthapur, where a massive blaze engulfed a three-storey house, reducing several household items to ashes.
Eyewitnesses reported that multiple LPG cylinders exploded during the blaze, intensifying the inferno. Firefighters rushed to the scene and worked tirelessly to contain the flames. Despite their efforts, the fire claimed the life of a woman named Pranati Deka.
The house where the fire occurred belonged to another woman, and the exact cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed. According to police, the deceased woman’s husband is a doctor, and their son resides in Duliajan.
