Guwahati: The city police achieved major success by rescuing four missing teenagers from different parts of the city within 24 hours. The swift action also led to the arrest of two accused involved in separate abduction cases.
One of the accused, identified as Idris Ali from Hojai, was arrested in connection with the abduction of a 15-year-old girl from Amsing, Jorabat under Satgaon Police Station. The girl was allegedly lured and taken away on Wednesday night. Following a complaint lodged by the victim’s family, Satgaon Police conducted a successful operation in Dimapur, rescuing the minor and arresting the accused.
In a separate incident, Noonmati Police rescued a Class VIII student who had gone missing from the Pathar Quarry area. He was found at Kamakhya Railway Station and later informed police that he had fled home due to a lack of interest in studies.
Another teenage girl who went missing from Bajali on Wednesday was also rescued by Noonmati Police from the Mathgharia area. A minor boy involved in the abduction was apprehended and handed over to Bajali Police.
In yet another case, city police rescued a girl student from Nagaon who had gone missing from Panikhaiti. During questioning, the girl stated that she had left home following a conflict with her family.
The coordinated efforts of the police departments across different locations ensured the safe return of all the teenagers, highlighting the department’s prompt response and effective action in tackling such sensitive cases.
