Guwahati: GMC commissioner inspects measures for waterlogging

Guwahati: Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) Commissioner Dr. M.S. Lakshmi Priya, on Thursday conducted field inspections of pumping operations at Clock Tower, Dispur Last Gate, and other waterlogged areas in the city. She was joined by Joint Commissioners Mrinal Borah, and Ambarish Borah, along with Executive Engineer Hiranya Hazarika and officials from Division 5.

The visit focused on expediting the drainage of stagnant water, ensuring the efficiency of pumping systems, and delivering timely relief to flood-hit localities. Dr. Lakshmi Priya instructed engineering teams to maintain round-the-clock monitoring of pumps and drainage lines to curb prolonged waterlogging.
