Guwahati: Heroin seized; burglar arrested with stolen goods

Guwahati: In two separate operations, city police apprehended a drug peddler and a habitual burglar, recovering contraband and stolen goods.

A team from Satgaon Police Station intercepted a suspect at a checkpoint in Baghorbori Tiniali. The accused, identified as Dhruba Das (25) of Baksa, was found in possession of 12.18 grams of heroin, a Honda Dio (AS01DK1555), and a syringe. Legal action is underway.

In another operation, a team from Basistha Police Station apprehended a habitual burglar while he was scouting for his next target. Police seized two chisels, a screwdriver, a Nerzo mobile phone, and a Nokia keypad phone, suspected to be stolen, from his possession. The accused, Ajahar Ali (47) of Dakhin Gaon, Dispur, has been arrested, and legal proceedings have been initiated.
