Guwahati: Heroin seized, drug peddlers apprehended in city

Guwahati: In a successful anti-narcotics operation, a joint team of the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the City Police and Noonmati Police Station intercepted a vehicle at a naka point near Noonmati Bus Stop based on specific intelligence inputs. During the operation, two suspected drug peddlers attempted to flee but were swiftly apprehended by the police. The arrested individuals have been identified as Jintu Ali (24) of Carbon Gate and Abbas Ali (28) of Shanti Nagar. Upon searching the vehicle, the team recovered 53.45 grams of heroin packed in 40 vials, one poly bag, an OPPO mobile phone, Rs 140 in cash.
