
GUWAHATI: A three-day Master Trainers’ Orientation programme under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) initiative was inaugurated at IIE today. The programme, scheduled from May 14 to May 16, aims to equip 30 empanelled Master Trainers with the knowledge, tools, and skills necessary to support the implementation of DAJGUA through the Van Dhan Vikash Kendra’s for 3,000 Schedule Tribes beneficiaries across Assam. The DAJGUA initiative is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. IIE is the implementing agency of the initiative.
The objective of the training is to provide master trainers with a comprehensive understanding of DAJGUA’s vision, objectives, and key components, as well as the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders. It will also focus on tribal livelihoods, minor food produce (MFP) identification, classification and value addition techniques & capacity building modules for ST beneficiaries and SDP steps in skill development training, government schemes, and institutional support, including legal documentation, trade licenses, and registrations.
The programme was inaugurated by Pamthing Keishing, Regional Manager, TRIFED Guwahati, and Prabir Kumar Barman, Senior Manager APTDC, in the presence of PMVDY officials. The participants also had an insightful interaction with AS Dewan, Associate Faculty Member, IIE.
Through this training orientation, IIE reaffirms its commitment to empowering the skill development of ST communities, paving the way for a brighter and more self-reliant future for all.
