Guwahati: IIE Hosts Project Screening Panel Meeting under ASPIRE Scheme

GUWAHATI: The Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati, hosted the 8th Project Screening Committee (PSC) meeting under the ASPIRE Scheme at IIE campus recently. The meeting was chaired by Director, IIE, Ishwar C. Poojar.

The proceedings were held in the presence of  Ganesh Chandra Das, MSME-DFO, Guwahati; Siddhartha Pradip Lahkar, Manager, NEDFi; Santanu Mohan Deka, Associate Faculty Member, IIE; and the IIE ASPIRE Team.

The session featured the presentation of project proposals from Host Institutes across India, encompassing diverse sectors such as agriculture, food processing, handicrafts, yoga and wellness, leather technology, garments, Industry 4.0, and emerging technologies like AI & IoT. Each proposal was assessed based on its innovativeness, technical and financial feasibility, alignment with ASPIRE scheme objectives, and potential for sustainable livelihood generation.

In his opening remarks, Ishwar C. Poojar, Director of IIE and Chairman of the Committee, provided strategic guidance to both the applicants and committee members. He underscored the importance of entrepreneurship education and skill-based enterprise development, encouraging all stakeholders to align with the broader vision of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India to foster rural entrepreneurship under the ASPIRE Scheme.

Ganesh Chandra Das, MSME-DFO, Guwahati, spoke on the significance of fostering innovation and strengthening incubation ecosystems. He shared insightful perspectives on the imperative of building structured support mechanisms to nurture early-stage entrepreneurs, particularly in rural and semi-urban geographies. The meeting concluded with constructive deliberations and mentoring interactions, further strengthening IIE’s role as the Mentor Institute for the ASPIRE Scheme.
