Guwahati: Illegal teer activity halted; one held in city

Guwahati: An EGPD team from Basistha Police Station carried out a raid at Patorkuchi on Saturday afternoon and apprehended one individual involved in illegal Teer activities. The accused has been identified as Sanjay Gupta (39), a resident of Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. During the operation, police seized Teer books, a mobile phone, and Rs 590 in cash from his possession. Legal action has been initiated.

In a separate incident, a WGPD team from Azara Police Station foiled an attempted motorcycle theft at Maligaon last night. The accused, Bibek Thakuria of Palashbari, was caught red-handed while trying to steal a Super Splendor bike (Reg. No. AS01EH6639). He was arrested on the spot, and further legal proceedings are underway.
