Guwahati: Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) has commenced admissions for its July 2025 academic session, unveiling over 50 academic programmes spanning undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate levels. In a significant academic expansion, the University has launched new Master’s programmes in Sanskrit and Bengali, along with a Bachelor’s programme in Library and Information Science.
Staying true to its motto, “Education Beyond Barriers”, KKHSOU remains a lifeline for learners from all walks of life—ranging from youth to senior citizens, working professionals, homemakers, police and defense personnel, specially-abled individuals, and even jail inmates. The University caters to these diverse groups through a flexible, learner-centric approach and innovative pedagogies powered by technology.
KKHSOU currently offers 11 Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUGP) in disciplines including Arts, Commerce, Computer Science, and Management, alongside 18 Postgraduate programmes, such as MA in various subjects, M.Com, MBA, MSW, M.Sc. in IT and Mathematics, and Journalism and Mass Communication. Further, the University is set to launch a Master’s in Yoga, which is currently awaiting final approval from the UGC.
With a robust network of 337 study centres across Assam, including 30 centres in district jails, KKHSOU ensures accessible and inclusive education to even the most underserved communities.
Admissions are open until August 30, 2025, and candidates can apply online through the official portal, reflecting the University’s commitment to affordability, flexibility, and academic excellence.
