GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Metropolitan Drinking Water and Sewerage Board (GMDW&SB) has informed its consumers that pumping of clear water has commenced and water supply in few area resumed from Wednesday.

“The empty reservoirs are being filled and water supply in the areas namely Amiya Nagar, Chandmari, Piyoli Phukan Nagar, Rajgarh, Gandhi Basti, Ashram Road, Rehabari, Ulubari, Lachit Nagar, Bora Service, Greater Zoo Road, Anil Nagar, Nabin Nagar, Tarun Nagar, Shreenagar, Bhaskar Nagar, Ambikagiri Nagar, Narikol Bari, Geetanagar etc, has been resumed from 8 pm till 10.30 pm tonight and from tomorrow supply will be given at normal timing in the above mentioned areas. However, the areas under Ramsahill and Lichubagan reservoirs supply will resume tomorrow. Our team is working diligently to ensure a prompt and safe restoration of services. We regret the inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption and appreciate the cooperation and understanding of our esteemed consumers,” stated a press release.
