Guwahati: Dispur College, with the technical support provided by the Directorate of Civil Defence, Assam and in collaboration with Ganeshguri Rangali Bihu Sanmilan, Ganeshguri Sports and Cultural Youth Club, Gopal Boro H.S. School, Greater Ganeshguri Chambers of Commerce and Greater Ganeshguri Commercial Association today organized a mock drill on “Precautionary Measures During War” at Gopal Boro Field, Ganeshguri, Guwahati.

The drill organized under the initiative of Dr. Navajyoti Borah, Principal, Dispur College aimed to equip students, employees as well as all interested civilians of the greater Ganeshguri area with necessary life-saving measures and strategies to be adopted during situations of war and other emergencies. More than two-hundred students, including NCC cadets and NSS volunteers of the college, along with a large number of local people of the area participated in the drill which focused on minimizing the number of casualties and mitigating overall damage during emergency situations called forth by air raids. Participants were trained on basic survival protocols and postures to be maintained during raid as well as rescue measures to be adopted in its immediate aftermath.
