GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has imposed hefty fines on two citizens for violating municipal rules. In a bid to maintain cleanliness and order in the city, the GMC has penalized the offenders with fines of Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 10,000, respectively. The first offender was fined Rs. 2,000 for stocking building materials on the roadside in Jalukbari. The second offender was slapped with a fine of Rs. 10,000 for discharging toilet water directly into drains in Jyotinagar.
The GMC’s efforts to maintain a clean and orderly city are part of its larger mission to make Guwahati a better place to live. The GMC emphasizes, “Our Guwahati, Our Responsibility!”
