
GUWAHATI: The N.F. Railway Women’s Welfare Organization (NFRWWO), in collaboration with FICCI FLO Northeast, organized an environmental awareness programme on June 5, at its Sirisha Rail Udyan located at Maligaon, Guwahati. The plantation drive was led by Shalini Shrivastava, president of NFRWWO, along with other office bearers, lending a strong message of leadership and commitment to the cause. Focusing on the theme “Ending Global Plastic Pollution”, the initiative included plantation activities sending awareness messages, reflecting NFR WWO’s continued commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.
Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is actively advancing a comprehensive set of green initiatives to promote environmental sustainability towards its “Go Green Initiative”. Major efforts include rapid progress toward 100% electrification by the end of 2025, with over 70% of the rail network already covered, aligning with Indian Railways' vision of carbon-neutral transport, stated a press release.
