

GUWAHATI: On Sunday, a 21-year-old student was found dead in a paying guest (PG) in Guwahati's Ulubari area.
According to reports, the incident took place at a PG at Harabala Path in the Ulubari locality.
The deceased has been identified as Sarmita Ghosh, a resident of Alipurduar in West Bengal.
The deceased's body was found under mysterious circumstances inside the bathroom where she was living.
She was reportedly aged 21 years old and was studying nursing.
Meanwhile, a team of officials from the Paltan Bazar police station arrived at the scene. However, prima facie it seems to be a case of suicide, informed officials.
Earlier, a girl student allegedly attempted suicide following mental intimidation from her teacher at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Banekuchi of Nalbari district.
As per reports, two other girls from the same school also blamed the teacher for mental harassment.
This incident became apparent when Human Rights Commission team reached the school to examine the reports filed by the girl's family regarding the suicidal case.
However, the principal of the school, Ajit Kumar straightforwardly contradicted the allegations about the teacher being involved in torturing the student both mentally and physically in the hostel.
Meanwhile, the family of the victim as well as the district's bothered people conveyed hope that the enigma behind this suicidal episode would soon be revealed after the Human Rights Commission's inspection.
