Guwahati: One killed in Drunken Brawl at Kahilipara in City

GUWAHATI: A party brawl among five friends in the Power area at Kahilipara in Guwahati led to the mysterious death of one of the five last night.

According to the police, the five had drinks on the first floor of a shop last night when a brawl took place among them. While four of the five came down, one stayed back on the first floor. Among them, a youth named Akash Choudhury sustained serious injuries. The person, who stayed back on the first floor, came down and took Choudhury to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

The police arrested the four-Bonjit Rajbongshi, Jiarul Ali, Dababrata Mallik, and Tarun Buragohain. Jiarul told the police that he had been on the first floor where they fought. He said when he came down and found Choudhury seriously injured, he admitted him to the hospital. The other three claimed that one of them, Bonjit, pushed Choudhury, and a speeding car knocked him down and fled.

The police have been investigating to get details of the incidents. The CCTV camera captured the picture of the brawl inside the shop, but the brawl on the road.
