Guwahati: PIB, NEHHDC Convene IMPCC meet to strengthen public outreach

GUWAHATI: The Press Information Bureau (PIB), Guwahati, in collaboration with the North Eastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation (NEHHDC), organised an Inter-Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) meeting at Garchuk on Thursday to enhance coordination among the publicity wings of Central Government departments.

The meeting was chaired by Kripa Shankar Yadav, Additional Director General, North East Zone, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and co-chaired by NEHHDC Managing Director Mara Kocho.

Addressing the meeting, Yadav highlighted the role of PIB, the Central Bureau of Communication, Doordarshan and All India Radio in disseminating information on government schemes and stressed the need for coordinated public communication. Kocho said NEHHDC has been supporting artisans and weavers across the Northeast by facilitating market access and promoting government procurement of handicrafts and handloom products.

During the programme, senior officials of PIB and NEHHDC jointly launched the inaugural edition of Purbashree Pulse, the corporation’s in-house magazine.

More than 35 representatives from Central Government departments and organisations participated in the meeting, sharing updates on their activities and public outreach initiatives. The participants were also urged to support the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and Har Ghar Tiranga campaigns through coordinated awareness efforts. The meeting concluded with an interactive session on strengthening inter-departmental media coordination and improving the effectiveness of government communication.
