Guwahati: Platinum Jubilee Celebration of Chandrapur LP School Concludes

GUWAHATI: The platinum jubilee celebrations of Chandrapur LP School, a premier educational institution in the greater Chandrapur region, came to a grand close. The event was organized to mark the school’s 75th anniversary.

The closing ceremony began with the inauguration of a permanent gate donated by the family of late Titaram Kochari, who had donated land for the school’s establishment. The event was attended by several dignitaries.

A colourful cultural procession was taken out, showcasing the traditional dances and music of various ethnic groups. The procession was flagged off by Priyabrata Sarma, in-Charge of Panikhaiti Police Outpost.

The event also featured a reunion of former students, who reminisced about their old days and shared nostalgic moments. An exhibition of handicrafts and an art gallery were also inaugurated by social worker Swapan Mandal.

The evening’s cultural programme, held at the Jiten Kalita Memorial Stage, featured a variety of performances by students and local artists. A souvenir magazine was also released during the event.

The two-day celebration came to a close with a grand finale of cultural performances, marking the end of the school’s platinum jubilee year, stated a press release.
