Guwahati: Police bust illegal activities at Ganeshguri Salon; three arrested

Guwahati: In a late-night raid on Saturday, Dispur Police busted an illegal operation allegedly running inside Looks Unisex Hair & Beauty Salon at the heart of Ganeshguri. Acting on complaints that the salon had long been involved in illicit activities, police rescued three young women from the premises.

Three persons, a woman and two men, identified as Bikram Thakur and Samsul Haque, were arrested during the operation. Several objectionable items were seized from the spot. Police also found a liquor party underway inside the salon at the time of the raid.

While the signboard outside indicated a salon, police said the premises were being used for illegal activities involving alcohol and women.

The crackdown follows a series of recent operations in the city, including the arrest of seven accused linked to the ‘Bapti’ gang in Six Mile and the arrest of one Kiran Gogoi by Paltan Bazar Police for allegedly running similar illegal activities in a hotel.
