Guwahati: In a significant step towards enhancing eye care services in the region, Guwahati Refinery, under its CSR initiatives recently donated a Community Vehicle and a Constellation Advanced Vitrectomy System to Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya, Guwahati.
In a befitting ceremony held at Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya, Sunil Kanti, Executive Director & Refinery Head, Guwahati Refinery handed over the Community Vehicle and the Constellation Advanced Vitrectomy System to Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya in the presence of Dr. Harsha Bhattacharjee, President, Sri Sankardeva Nethralaya, Hitajit Bhattacharyya, CGM (HR) and other Officials. This donation will support the hospital’s Vitreo-Retina Department, allowing for more effective treatment of complex retinal disorders and improving outreach to underprivileged communities whereas, the Community Vehicle will be used exclusively for carrying eye patients from the primary eye care centres in different districts of Assam to the base hospital in Guwahati, free of cost for providing free treatment, eye surgery and rehabilitating back to their homes after treatment, stated a press release.
