GUWAHATI: The Annual General Meeting of the Retired Assam Civil Service Officers’ Forum was held on Saturday at the Forum’s office auditorium in Dispur, under the presidentship of Prasanta Kumar Baruah. The meeting commenced with the rendition of the Forum’s permanent theme song, followed by a Saraswati Vandana, setting a solemn and respectful tone for the event.
The secretary of the forum, Ramananda Phukan, elaborated on the forum’s objectives, highlighting its ongoing commitment to unity and service among retired civil servants.
The highlight of the event was the inauguration of the Forum’s magazine, Sandipan, by Lakhmi Nath Tamuli, Retired IAS Officer. In his address, he reflected on his extensive administrative experience across various roles and encouraged the members to continue contributing positively to society even after retirement.
The meeting was further enriched by the presence of special guest Dhirendra Nath Saikia, also a retired IAS officer, who shared insights into his service tenure and inspired the forum members with reflections on his duties and responsibilities.
Appointed speaker Harish Chandra Sonowal took the stage to commend the vital contributions of the Assam Civil Service officers throughout their careers. He praised their dedication and the legacy of public service they have upheld.
In his concluding speech, the forum’s president and president of the meeting, Prasanta Kumar Baruah, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the guests and all attendees for their participation and continued support. The meeting concluded on a patriotic note with the singing of the National Anthem.
