GUWAHATI: The ambitious Guwahati Riverfront Beautification Project is progressing rapidly, with completion expected by April this year, State Housing & Urban Affairs Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah has announced. The project aims to transform the Brahmaputra riverfront into a major tourist attraction, enhancing the city’s urban landscape and boosting tourism.
Speaking about the ongoing developments, Mallabaruah said, “The riverfront development works are going on at a fast pace. We are constructing 2-3 gardens near the Brahmaputra River, and new inclusions have been added under the leadership of our Chief Minister.”
The minister also emphasized that the upcoming Guwahati-North Guwahati connecting bridge will pave the way for further beautification efforts along the river. He confirmed that two parks have already been completed as part of the initiative.
