Guwahati: In a remarkable initiative to promote inclusiveness and raise awareness about the challenges faced by the visually impaired, Rotary Club Guwahati Metro organised the inspiring 'Dinner in the Dark' program on November 30 in the city. The event aimed to support the higher education of visually impaired children and received overwhelming participation and generous contributions.

The evening began with a drama enactment by a talented group, followed by an impactful speech by a visually impaired Braille teacher. The highlight of the event was dining in complete darkness, offering participants a rare insight into the daily challenges of the visually impaired.

"This initiative is not just an event but a step toward building an inclusive society," said Club President Dinesh Manglunia. Convener Bikram Sharma emphasized the alignment of the program with Rotary's motto, 'Service above Self.'

Funds raised will directly support visually impaired students, ensuring meaningful and long-term impact. Participants praised the event for its unique approach and powerful message of inclusivity and resilience.
