GUWAHATI: A private diagnostic centre in the Beltola area in Guwahati is under police investigation following a serious complaint lodged by a lady patient on Saturday.
Before conducting an ECG test, two nurses at the diagnostic centre asked a lady patient to change her dress. While changing her dress, the patient saw a CCTV camera in the room. She asked the two nurses the reasons behind the CCTV camera installed in the room where patients change their clothes. The two nurses' reply failed to convince the lady patient, who demanded to see the footage of the CCTV camera. When the two nurses rejected her plea, the lady moved the lady manager of the diagnostic centre and demanded she show the footage of the CCTV camera. The manager told the patient that they could not show her the footage of the CCTV as the technician was not there at that time. The reluctance on the part of the hospital staff to show the footage of the CCTV led the lady patient to telephone Hatigaon Police. The police detained a person from the diagnostic centre related to the CCTV cameras of the diagnostic centre for interrogation. An investigation is going on.
