Guwahati: Rs 84.48 crore under PM-USHA for 5 higher educational institutes in Assam

GUWAHATI: The central government has allocated Rs 84.48 crore for revitalising five higher educational institutes in Assam under the PM-USHA (Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan). The five higher educational institutes and the amounts allocated for each of them are Rs 70.94 crore for Dibrugarh University, Rs 3.50 crore for RK Nagar College in the Sribhumi district, Rs 3 crore each for Gurucharan College and Janata College in Cachar, and Rs 4.04 crore for SK Roy College in the Hailakandi district. PM-USHA is a scheme sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It aims at improving the quality of state higher education institutions. The scheme focuses on areas like accreditation, digital infrastructure, and model academic institutions.
