
GUWAHATI: On Tuesday, CSR Activity was carried out by the State Bank of India, Guwahati, by awarding financial assistance to 135 war veterans and Veer Naris in coordination with the Directorate of Sainik Welfare, Assam. The event was conducted at Sainik Bhawan Lachit Nagar.
Amresh Kumar Jha, General Manager, State Bank of India, and senior officers of SBI, officers from HQ 51 Sub Area, and the director, officers, and staff of the Directorate of Sainik Welfare, Assam, were present at the function. AK Jha presented a replica cheque of Rs. 69.75 lakhs to Brigadier Polash Choudhury, Sena Medal, Director, and Directorate of Sainik Welfare, Assam. This amount will be distributed to 135 beneficiaries selected by the State Bank of India, and Rs. 50,000/- each will be directly remitted to the bank accounts of the selected war veterans and Veer Naris. A gift each was distributed by the SBI team to the ex-servicemen and families present at the event.
The event concluded with informal interaction between the dignitaries, war veterans, and Veer Naris over a high tea, stated a press release.
