GUWAHATI: Assam Pradesh BJP president Dilip Saikia on Tuesday appealed to the people to come out in large numbers to exercise their franchise in the second phase of panchayat polls slated for Wednesday.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Saikia urged the rural voters to come out in large numbers and to cast their ballot to help further strengthen the edifice of grassroots democracy.

“I appeal to all the rural voters in the second phase of the panchayat election tomorrow to come out in large numbers to help strengthen grassroots democracy. This is a festival of democracy, and let each and every voter participate in the democratic exercise,” Saikia added. The State BJP president stated that the government is working continuously to make Assam the best state in India.

“We are taking forward our vision and working continuously to make Assam the best state in India under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma,” Saikia said. Saikia highlighted the BJP government’s commitment to the upliftment of the exploited, deprived, and backward classes. He emphasized that the benefits of various public welfare-orientated schemes launched by the BJP government are reaching every section of society.
