GUWAHATI: Guwahati police arrested several drug peddlers and thieves from different areas in Guwahati. A team of Chandmari Police caught Binit Bardhan, a fourth-grade employee in the Department of Water Resources, for stealing road slabs. CCTV camera footage led to the arrest of the fourth-grade employee. Based on his confessional statement, the police arrested two others – Almas Ali and Saddam Hussain.  A team of Jalukbari Police arrested drug peddler Suraj Das from Pandu Station Colony and seized 20 grams of heroin packed in 15 vials from his possession. Panbazar Police raided a hideout at Railway Gate No. 2 and apprehended a teen hailing from Bilasipara. The police seized seven vials of heroin weighing 9.16 grams. A team of Basistha Police arrested a thief named Gaurav Prasad, hailing from Beharbari, in the Patarkuchi area. Sonapur recovered a stolen Bajaj Pulsar (AS01FA6705) bike from Shillong with the help of Meghalaya Police. At the time of recovery the bike had a fake number (ML04C6971). A team of Jalukbari police apprehended two thieves with the help of the local people from the Jalukbari area. The two have been identified as Ibrahim Ali hailing from Goalpara and Mrinal Haque hailing from Gauripur. Several stolen items have been recovered from the two.
