GUWAHATI: A scuffle broke out during the election of the National Students’ Union of India’s (NSUI) president post at Rajiv Bhawan in Guwahati on Monday night, leaving presidential candidate Jinsh Bora injured. Bora, who was allegedly assaulted by Mithu Ahmed and two others, has been admitted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment.

The incident sparked a police investigation, with the victim’s family registering a case (43/2025) against the accused at Bhangagarh PS. Mithu Ahmed has been arrested and sent to judicial custody.
