Guwahati: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has issued a public notice informing residents of an impending water supply disruption in certain areas of the city due to pipeline shifting work at Bharalumukh.
According to a GMC notification, water supply will be affected from May 24 to May 25, 2025. The disruption is due to the shifting of an existing 250 mm diameter water pipeline. The operation will be carried out by the Assam Public Roads Department (APWRD), and the work is expected to take approximately 48 hours to complete. The areas likely to be affected during this period include are R.K. Choudhury Road and Santipur area.
The Corporation has requested residents to bear with the temporary inconvenience and assured that water supply will resume as soon as the work is completed. The GMC has expressed regret for the disruption and appealed for public cooperation under the circumstances.
