GUWAHATI: Guwahati’s beloved Hot Pot Restaurant has made history by winning the NDTV Food Award for Best Restaurant for Momos in the country. It is the only restaurant from the North Eastern region to have been nominated in any category for the prestigious awards.
Located on Bhuban Road, Uzanbazar, Hot Pot is a popular Chinese and Pan-Asian casual dining restaurant that was started in 2011 by three young entrepreneurs. The restaurant has been successfully managed by Ranjeev Lal Barua since its inception nearly 15 years ago. The menu was conceptualised by his partner and cousin Chef Rahul Mark Barua.
The award, presented in the Readers’ Choice category, was determined by public votes, with Hot Pot receiving a substantially higher number of votes than its competitors. In the process, it outshone renowned restaurants from Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi, and Kolkata, thereby reaffirming its place as a momo lover’s paradise.
Hot Pot’s victory is not only a testament to its authentic flavors and loyal clientele but also a moment of pride for the North Eastern food industry, bringing national recognition to the region’s rich culinary heritage.
