Guwahati: A meeting of the Kamrup Metropolitan District Sainik Board and Sainik Bandhu was convened today at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan.

The meeting focused on addressing various issues faced by serving and retired defence personnel, including challenges related to property tax exemptions, land disputes, land registration, allotment of land, and the allocation of office space for associated organisations. These matters were discussed in detail with an aim to find practical resolutions.

Deputy Commissioner Sattawan directed the Additional Deputy Commissioner and Circle Officers to take prompt steps to resolve pending land disputes and encroachment-related cases at the earliest.

Among those present at the meeting were District Development Commissioner Parijat Bhuyan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Ajit Kumar Sharma, Sadar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kangkan Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police Imdad Ali, Colonel Tarun Noni, retired Brigadier Ranjit Barthakur, retired administrative officers Deepak Sharma and Dhruva Hazarika and several retired defence personnel.
