MANGALDAI: A violent land dispute between two families resulted in one person being killed on the spot and twelve others suffering serious injuries. This incident took place on Thursday night at No.3 Galandi village under Kharupetia police station in Darang district. According to the information, a land dispute was going on for the last four years between the families of late Abdul Qadir and Abdul Majeed of the village and a civil suit was also going on. On that night, a group of thirty to forty individuals accosted Aamir Hamza of Abdul Majeed's family that evening as he was on his way home, brandishing sticks, spears, and other sharp objects in front of the house.  Hearing Hamza’s scream, his family members reached the spot, but they were also attacked and Aamir Hamza died on the spot. Of the twelve seriously injured, two have been referred to Guwahati Medical College Hospital in a critical condition. Kharupetia police has arrested three persons in this connection.
