Kamrup (Metro) District Magistrate ordered Probe into death of a convict

GUWAHATI: The District Magistrate has ordered a probe for the death of a convict who was serving a life sentence at the Central Jail Guwahati, as per press release. The deceased inmate’s name was Ram Singh who was referred to GMCH (Guwahati Medical College and Hospital) from the jail’s hospital for better medical treatment. Singh expired on December 10 last year. Guwahati Revenue Circle Circle Officer (A) Dr. Sangeeta Sharma has been asked to enquire about the death and submit a report within 15 days.
