KKHSOU convocation today at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakhsetra
GUWAHATI: The 4th Convocation of Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) will be held in the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakhsetra in Guwahati on 21st March, 2021. Governor of Assam Prof. Jagdish Mukhi will preside over the function.
According to a press release, noted educationist and the VC of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNU), Prof. Nageswar Rao will grace the function as the chief guest. Nearly 500 learners will participate and receive degrees in the august function maintaining all Covid protocols. Noted academician and former Professor of Gauhati University Prof. Ranjit Kumar Dev Goswami will be conferred the D. Litt (Honoris Causa). Dipok Kumar Borthakur, the Vice Chairman of the State Innovation and Transformation Aayog (SITA), Assam; Surath Narzary, noted educationist and translator of Rabindranath Tagore's Gitanjali into Bodo and Adil Hussain, the acclaimed actor and theatre personality will be conferred the Honorary PhD Degrees.
Prof. Kandarpa Das, VC of KKHSOU, will deliver the inaugural address of the convocation, the release added.
In 2019 and 2020, a total of 16,381 learners have received degrees and diplomas of this university. Besides, 22 learners have been awarded PhD and 15 have received M. Phil degrees. Recently, under the leadership of the VC Prof. Das, the university has successfully conducted an academic and administrative audit of the university which was carried out by a committee of external experts.
