GUWAHATI: Mainao Brahma, the prime accused in the alleged trading scam in Assam’s Baksa district, has approached the Gauhati High Court seeking the quashing of criminal proceedings against her. The petition (Crl. Rev. P. No. 135/2026) came up for hearing before the Bench of Justice Sanjeev Kumar Sharma on Thursday. The Court listed the matter for further hearing on September 19, 2026. Brahma approached the High Court after a CBI Special Court rejected her plea seeking dismissal of the case. The trial court has already framed charges against her in connection with the alleged scam. The case was initially registered at Mushalpur Police Station before being transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further investigation.
