GUWAHATI: The landslide victory of the BJP-led alliance in the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC) elections is a clear reflection of the increasing grassroots support from indigenous sons of the soil, tribal communities, and ethnic groups towards the alliance, said Assam Pradesh BJP president Dilip Saikia today.

Saikia emphasised that this resounding result proves how the welfare schemes of ‘the Double Engine Government—led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and dynamic Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in the state—are effectively reaching the grassroots level. “This election result is not just a ‘win for the BJP-led government but also a report card’ for the performance of the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council under the leadership of Tankeswar Rabha,” Saikia added.

Extending heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the voters of the Rabha Hasong area, Saikia reaffirmed the BJP alliance’s unwavering commitment to valuing this wholehearted support.

“Our efforts will continue with full dedication until the smile of development reaches the face of the last person in the most remote areas,” he asserted. Though this ‘massive victory was expected, Saikia appreciated the tireless work of every party worker who’ contributed to this success and urged them to continue their efforts with the same energy and dedication. “The end of one election is not a pause for a karyakarta—it marks the beginning of preparation for the next,” he remarked. With this ‘in mind, Saikia made a strong appeal to all party karyakartas to gear up for the upcoming Panchayat elections’ with renewed enthusiasm.

Welcoming the decision to conduct Panchayat elections without party symbols, he called upon the people of Assam and party workers to rise above political lines and ensure the election of capable ‘individuals, thereby reinforcing a sense of social responsibility’.
