RHAC election: 2.4 lakh voters to decide fate of 53 candidates today

The polling of the RHAC election for the 19 constituencies will be held. There are 53 candidates from different parties as well as independently stood aspirants.

Goalpara: The polling of the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council election for the 19 constituencies will be held on Wednesday. There are 53 candidates from different parties as well as independently stood aspirants.

All the vehicles carrying the poll officers accompanied by the security personnel have already left from the office of the District Commissioner-cum-District Returning Officer on Tuesday. There will be no vote and no contest in the Joyramkuchi constituency and the lone candidate from BJP ticket is scheduled to be declared as winner post counting on April 4.

There are a total of 2,54,996 voters for the 20 constituencies including the Joyramkuchi. However, at present, there will be 2,40,025 voters in rest of the 19 constituencies.

 Khanindra Choudhury, DC and District Returning Officer has sought public cooperation for a free and fair poll and declared the poll day as the local holiday in the poll bound RHAC areas.
