Mayor-in-Council meet discusses urban issues, focuses on urban governance and cleanliness

Guwahati: Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) Commissioner Dr. M.S. Lakshmi Priya, IAS, attended her first Mayor-in-Council (MIC) meeting today, marking the 47th session of the council. The meeting was held at the GMC Office in Uzan Bazar under the chairmanship of Mayor Mrigen Sarania. The session focused on several critical administrative and developmental issues, with a strong emphasis on strengthening urban governance, enhancing cleanliness, and promoting hygiene throughout the city. Deputy Mayor Smita Roy, MIC members, and senior GMC officials also took part in the meeting. Together, they discussed strategies aimed at improving municipal service delivery and reinforcing citizen-centric initiatives to build a more livable and efficient Guwahati.
