NDRF conducts awareness programme on COVID-19 in Kamrup Rural

With the aim of creating awareness among the common people to take preventive measures for COVID-19, the 1st Battalion National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) conducted an awareness programme at Nizsundrighopa village in Kamrup Rural.

GUWAHATI: With the aim of creating awareness among the common people to take preventive measures for COVID-19, the 1st Battalion National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) conducted an awareness programme at Nizsundrighopa village in Kamrup Rural.

The awareness programme included elaboration by the NDRF team on COVID-19 and type of transmission, infection, prevention and control, proper use of mask, hand hygiene and social distancing. A live demonstration on hand washing was also shown as part of the programme. NDRF team also organized the pledge to Community during the awareness campaign.

Randhir Singh Gill, Commandant 1st Battalion NDRF said in a statement, "In this horrific time of coranavirus, there is still more need to take care of yourself and your loved ones. As the cases are increasing in the country, there is a need to take precautions. To avoid coronavirus, social distancing, cleanliness of hands and use of mask is necessary."

NDRF team also conducted awareness programme on COVID-19 at century ply factory at Palasbari and Girls Higher Secondary School at Uparhal under District- Kamrup Rural.

During the awareness programme rescuers distributed face masks and pamphlets. Rescuers also placed posters and hoardings as preventive measure of COVID-19 at different places, stated a release.
