NFR cancels, curtails multiple trains as track restoration continues between Assam and Mizoram

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) continued restoration work on the track between Jamira in Assam and Bairabi in Mizoram on the Katakhal-Bairabi section following soil erosion near the track.

GUWAHATI: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) continued restoration work on the track between Jamira in Assam and Bairabi in Mizoram on the Katakhal-Bairabi section following soil erosion near the track.

In view of the ongoing work, NFR announced additional changes in train services, including cancellations, short origination and short termination of trains.

Train Nos. 15610 Sairang-Guwahati Express, 13126 Sairang-Kolkata Express, 15609 Guwahati-Sairang Express, 55667 Silchar-Bairabi Express, 55668 Bairabi-Silchar Express, 55669 Silchar-Sairang Express and 55670 Sairang-Silchar Express were cancelled on specified dates between September 10 and 12.

Train No. 15610 Sairang-Guwahati Express, commencing its journey on September 10, and Train No. 13126 Sairang-Kolkata Express, commencing on September 11, will originate from Hailakandi, with services cancelled between Sairang and Hailakandi.

Train No. 15609 Guwahati-Sairang Express, commencing on September 11, and Train No. 13125 Kolkata-Sairang Express, commencing on September 9, will terminate at Hailakandi, with services cancelled between Hailakandi and Sairang, a press release said.
