Noonmati Police arrested 5 persons for murder

GUWAHATI: The Noonmati Police has arrested five persons in connection to death of a person named Raju Das who was allegedly assaulted by a group of 12 persons here on January 6.

A resident of Trinayanpur under Noonmati Police Station, Das was admitted to the GMCH (Gauhati Medical College and Hospital) and later succumbed to his injuries on January 18. His wife has lodged an FIR at the PS – 54/21 U/S 302/443/325/147/148 IPC.

The arrested persons are – BijuPegu, UtpalDutta, Kamal Das, Bijoy Ray, and RupenKalita. The rest of the persons from the group are absconding.
