Noted cultural activist Mrinal Kanti Das passes away

GUWAHATI: Mrinal Kanti Das, a noted cultural activist and incumbent general secretary of the Silpi Sahaijo Nidhi, passed away early on Wednesday at a city hospital.

Das was ailing for over a week.

He was involved in the Assam Agitation and later became a social worker, actor and theatre personality. Das played an active role in assisting distressed artistes during the COVID-19 pandemic.
