Guwahati: After the implementation of the Teacher Transfer Management System (TTMS) by the Department of School Education, Assam, more than 30,000 single and mutual transfers have been completed under three categories: Secondary Education, Elementary Education, and Samagra Shiksha, Assam.
According to a report by the Department of School Education, the TTMS system was introduced in 2020. TTMS allows teachers to submit online transfer requests, aligning with Pupil-Teacher Ratio (PTR) norms and expediting the transfer process. It aims to reduce corruption, centralize teacher data, and streamline the transfer process.
Under TTMS, a total of 2,38,356 lakh teachers were registered, with 68,845 transfer applications submitted. Of these, 31,682 transfer orders were issued, out of which 25,482 were mutual teacher transfer category and the remaining 6,200 teachers were under the single teacher transfer category.
Under Secondary Education, since 2022, a total of 5,163 teachers were transferred, both single and mutual, under the Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam. Out of these, 3,927 were inter-district transfers, and 1,235 were intra-district transfers. Under Elementary Education, a total of 15,730 teachers were transferred. Out of these, 9,598 were inter-district transfers, and 6,132 were intra-district transfers.
Under Samagra Shiksha, Assam, a total of 10,790 teachers were transferred. Of these, 7,097 were inter-district transfers, and 3,693 were intra-district transfers.
