Rs 25 Lakh Cash Seized by Flying Squad in Jalukbari During Poll Vigil

A flying squad seized approximately Rs 25 lakh in cash during a routine vehicle check in the Jalukbari area of Guwahati on Monday, as election authorities step up surveillance ahead of the Assam Legislative Assembly Election 2026.

The seizure comes with just eight days left for polling day.

The cash was intercepted during a routine check conducted by the Jalukbari outpost, led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).

Further details about the source of the cash and the individuals involved are yet to be officially disclosed, as the matter is currently under investigation.
