Special Court Frames Charges Against Former APSC Chairman Rakesh Paul

GUWAHATI: The Special Judge Court has framed charges against 'disgraced' APSC (Assam Public Service Commission) Chairman Rakesh Paul under Section 7 and 13 (b) of Prevention of Corruption Act along with Section 420 of IPC in the case (27/2018) registered with the CID (Crime Investigation Department).

It is to be mentioned that, the FIR was lodged against Paul by one Son Kumar Baishya.

The complainant alleged that Paul had demanded Rs 10 lakh from him on the pretext of providing job. The complainant stated in the FIR that he had already given Rs 5 lakh as an advance payment to Paul.
